Multi-Ethnic Leadership Intensives
As leaders, we need to learn how to effectively and courageously speak into and create Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access solutions that are more human for all.
Thirst Matters has created Multi-Ethnic Leadership track solutions that pull from leading edge neuroscience and leadership research. Each track is delivered in four quarterly intensive blocks over the course of a year.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
The first year’s theme centers on the neuroscience of connection and building a trauma-informed lens. From that platform of understanding, we dive into the deep waters of critical race theory and leadership. We create powerful spaces of transformation to address these issues with empathy, and constructive insight.
An Invitation to Transformational Community
“The biases we hold against other groups have the ability to wreak havoc on our crosscultural interactions. Before we enter into such interactions, we must do the difficult work of addressing our biases and blind spots.”
— Christena Cleveland
Connection: EQ Neuroleadership & the Bonds Between Us
“The hardest thing about leadership is the intimacy it requires”
— Dallas Willard
Equity: CQ Trauma-Informed Leadership: Race & Systemic Injustice
“The reality is that race in the United States operates on a spectrum from black to white. Doesn’t mean that people who are in between don’t experience racism, but it means that the closer you are to white on that spectrum, the better off you are. And the closer to black that you are on that spectrum, the worse off you are.”
– Alicia Garza
Empathy: The Narratives Within & Among Us
“People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn’t true, No, the only tired I was, was the tired of giving in.”
— Rosa Parks
The second years’ theme centers on the neuroscience of engaging complex communication, shared stretch goals, and resiliency. In year two, we engage the interplay of race and gender (intersectionality framework) and leadership. We create spaces of transformation to foster perspective-taking and pilot power structure reconfiguration –designing solutions that are more human for all.
Power: TQ Trauma Informed Leadership Gender & Systemic Injustice
“A role model in the flesh provides more than inspiration; her very existence is confirmation of possibilities one may have every reason to doubt, saying, “Yes, someone like me can do this.”
— Justice Sonia Sotomayor
Compassion: The Narratives Within & Among Us
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. “
— Fred Rogers
Communication: Neuroleadership & the Words Between Us
“Don’t let your ego get too close to your position, so that if your position gets shot down, your ego doesn’t go with it.”
— Colin Powell
Resilience: Neuroleadership & the Growth Mindset Way
“Write a new ending for yourself, for the people you’re meant to serve and support, and for your culture.”
